ABOUT KEVIN McKIERNAN
Ideas, for Kevin McKiernan, are everything and he is lucky enough to have grown up in a culture where directors were positively welcomed into the ideas process. Kevin is a very experienced film director, and loves a good creative collaboration bringing a positive, pragmatic sense of what can be done. Kevin is at ease on set with crews of 40 or more, yet equally happy working around the table with a small team in a tight spot. Kevin has travelled the world making films, and has worked with some of the true greats across the industry. Kevin started out as a visual director having studied graphic design, but has been increasingly drawn to meeting and filming “real” people. His work for Channel 4 Paralympics exemplifies how he allows real people to tell real stories because of his belief that ordinary folk have the best stories. With authentic agencies and brands increasingly moving away from “lifestyle” to “real life”, Kevin is a perfect fit for this genre but never loses sight of the visual power. In a world of ‘content’ versus the fixed duration of a television commercial Kevin is versatile to work in branded content of any length. There’s certainly no lack of automotive content in his folio. Brands under Kevin’s belt include Rolex, Land Rover, UAE, Volvo, Channel 4, Canon to name a small few.
